Remedial exercise is an essential part of the therapeutic programme. Exercises differ for the dog and the horse, however all aim to increase proprioceptive function, increase muscle build, regain motor control of muscles and improve endurance of an animal. Exercises are altered depending on the capabilities of the animal and, often, a plan is drawn out over a period of time to allow for safe and effective progression of an exercise.
